Welcome to The Language Connection, a great place to study English!

The Language Connection, the English Language Institute of St. John’s University, provides an attractive selection of courses in English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) and English Language Teaching (ELT). The Language Connection serves ESL students in a range of levels from beginner to advanced. Our ESL learners include international students preparing for university coursework, visitors to New York City, teenagers on educational tours and members of the business community.

Our new, innovative programs connect the classroom to the real world, focusing on the English you will need to communicate effectively in academic, business, or personal settings. In our classes, we use up-to-date technology tools to talk about today’s news; help you write clear, organized emails and essays; and improve your comprehension of movies, lectures and voicemail. Our methods – like our materials – are new and fresh, and will help you achieve your goals.
